Common Questions
Do I need a referral to see a chiropractor at Balanced Healthcare?
No referral is needed. Book directly online or call 03 9376 4666. Most private health extras funds allow on-the-spot HICAPS claiming.
What’s the difference between chiropractic, remedial massage, and myotherapy?
Chiropractic focuses on the spine and joints. Remedial massage targets soft tissue and muscle tension. Myotherapy treats musculoskeletal pain using dry needling and trigger point release. Many patients combine treatments for faster recovery.
How do I choose the right practitioner for chronic back pain?
Start with a chiropractic assessment to identify the underlying cause, then add remedial massage or myotherapy for longer-lasting relief. Book an initial consultation and we’ll build a tailored plan.
Is chiropractic care safe for children and during pregnancy?
Yes. Our chiropractors use gentle, age-appropriate techniques for infants and children, and pregnancy-safe methods for expecting mothers.
What should I expect at my first appointment?
A full health history discussion, physical assessment, and clear explanation of findings before treatment starts. Initial consults run 30-45 minutes.
Does private health insurance cover these services?
Most extras cover includes chiropractic, remedial massage, and myotherapy. We offer on-the-spot HICAPS claiming — pay only the gap.
How often should I get remedial massage or myotherapy?
Weekly for 2-4 weeks for acute issues, then every 4-6 weeks for maintenance — your practitioner will confirm what’s right for you.
